Housing Initiative
Addressing the need for market-rate housing
Determining where to live and plant roots is a big decision. It needs to be the right place for you to call a house…home. We’re with you, and we’re here to help you along the journey. The KEDCO Housing Initiative was created to provide more opportunities to live in Kosciusko County.
After a housing needs study showed market potential for 2,000 additional units in Kosciusko County, KEDCO was identified to lead county-wide housing efforts to create more market rate, workforce housing, with a key focus on proximity to employment centers. KEDCO serves as a point of contact to bridge gaps between our local communities, developers and employers .
- Goal #1: Improve employee retention by reducing commute times to 15 minutes or less and reduce the number of commuters to 10% less than the national average.
- Goal #2: Add a minimum of 2,000 additional housing units in Kosciusko County by 2024.
- Goal #3: Increase number of residents to contribute toward the region’s population growth goal.
